PowerPoint Slide Show Converter is a program for converting PowerPoint presentations into executable files. In a nutshell, by using this application you will obtain an .exe file that can be played on any computer running Windows 2000 (SP4+), XP, Vista, and 7, even without Microsoft PowerPoint installed. A side benefit of this is that the distributed presentations cannot be modified, so no one will be able to profit from your work.
This program has a wizard that will guide you through the whole process. At the beginning, it will ask you which mode of conversion you prefer: Simple Mode or Special Mode. If you choose the former, your slide show will keep its original appearance. This mode supports custom animations, links, and active elements, but you will not be able to create screen savers. You can, however, generate autorun files to make the presentation launch automatically from a CD or a DVD. In the Special Mode, you can customize the results a lot more. You can add a soundtrack by appending a MIDI, WAV, or MP3 file; you can choose to generate an executable file or a screen saver, and you are given the possibility of optimizing the output file for text and drawing or photographs, and setting the transition timing, effects, and loops. Of course, you will also be able to generate autorun files.
